The Night Before
Women, Fire & Fairy Lights
Before our handfasting and the broom is jumped, we invite all of our loved women to gather. This is our "hen" night - a time for our chosen family to come together, light fires, and hold space for each other as one chapter closes and another begins. This isn’t your average hen do - no sashes, no plastic tiaras (definitely no penises!!) and no awkward games. Instead, we want to create something sacred, something beautiful, something that feels like home. Wear comfortable clothes, casual and warm. Preferably something that you might not mind climbing a ladder in to hang lights initially - forewarned is forearmed and all that jazz!
6pm - Arrive & Help Transform the Earth House
We will begin by making the space perfectly ours. Fairy lights, ribbons, candles, and colour - we’ll drape the Earth House in warmth and beauty, filling it with our collective magic (plus its cheaper than a wedding planner!!). Our intent is to prepare the space for the beginning of our journey ahead. This is a night of connection, reflection, and wild, wonderful womanhood - tits out, howling at the moon (we're looking at you Lex, Becs and Jess!).
Firelight & Stories - Women Holding Women
Once the ribbons are up, candles are lit and the fires crackling, we settle in for the heart of the night: Stories of strength, love, and life. Bring a tale - of yourself, of someone who shaped you, of moments that made you who you are. This is a space of listening and sharing, holding the wisdom of those who came before us.
A pause before the new chapter. The Celtic traditions say that the night before stepping into something new is sacred. We’ll hold that moment together, honouring where we’ve been and welcoming what’s to come. Jaye will likely cry a lot so if someone can bring soft tissue, that would be appreciated!
What to Bring
Eat before you arrive - tonight is about nourishment of a different kind. If you'd like to bring some snacks please do.
BYO Drinks - bring whatever makes you feel at ease, whether that’s tea, wine, or something stronger.
An open heart - this is a space for authenticity, softness, and joy.
As the embers fade and the night creeps in, we'll say goodnight, ready to begin the new day celebrating together.
