The Big Day - Our Handfasting Adventure!

Hey, wonderful humans!

We can’t wait to celebrate our love with you in the most us way possible; under the autumn sky, surrounded by nature, history and our favourite people. Below is the rundown of the day so you know what’s happening when. No need for formalities - just good vibes, community spirit, a whole lot of love, and fire-cooked food. The adventure begins at 12:30pm.

Arrive, Mingle & Axe Throwing

Come on in, share a snack, and get ready to unleash your inner warrior! We’ll be kicking things off with axe throwing (yes, really), so if you’ve ever wanted to prove yourself in a medieval-style battle… now’s your chance.

If axes aren’t your thing, don’t worry - there will be plenty of chill space to chat and soak in the atmosphere along with some fun games for the smalls or those who don't want to throw sharp objects.

Nibbles: This is a community feast, so please bring a little something to share - think rustic, picnic-y, and easy to snack on.

3:30 - 5pm

Feast in the Viking Longhouse

We’re talking open-fire cooking, flickering candlelight, and the most magical setting for a communal meal. There’s no seating plan, no formalities - just grab a plate, get comfy, and enjoy the warmth of good food and good company.

Think hearty, rustic, and delicious - our chef Lisa will be cooking up a feast over the flames!

Dessert: Please bring along something sweet for after the feast! Cakes, brownies, biscuits - if it makes people smile, it belongs at the table. Of course, there'll still be cake (thank you Meryl!)

5-6pm

Golden hour photos!

6-7:30pm
7:30pm - late

Now we dance. Or sway. Or dramatically monologue by the fire - whatever your party style, there’s a place for you here.

The Playlist - The dancefloor will be powered by you! We’ve set up a Spotify playlist - add your bangers, guilty pleasures, and queer anthems so we can all party like the chaotic legends we are. There will be prizes for lip syncing and the best expressive dance moves.

If dancing isn’t your thing, grab a drink and enjoy s'mores by the fire, tell stories, and revel in the magic of the night.

Winding Down

At some point, we’ll have to call it a night (we know, rubbish). Feel free to linger, hug it out, and soak up the last moments of a magical day before heading off into the night.

We cannot wait to share this day with you! Bring your joy, your best axe-throwing stance, and an appetite for adventure. See you there!

Love,

Lyd and Jaye

The Ceremony

Handfasting & Jumping the Broom!

Time to gather round as we tie the knot - literally! In true Celtic tradition, our hands will be bound in a handfasting ritual, symbolising our commitment to each other. But this isn’t just about us - you’ll all be part of it too, surrounding us in love and intention.

Once we’re woven together, we’ll jump into married life! And because love is for everyone, we invite you to jump too - whether with your partner, your bestie, the kids, or just because you fancy a leap of joy, making wishes whilst you bound over the broom.

Frankie, our brilliant live illustrator will be capturing the magic of the day, and each of you will get your very own hand-drawn keepsake as a thank-you for celebrating with us. If it’s not finished on the day, don’t worry - we’ll post it to you!

As the sun starts to set, we’ll sneak away for some golden-hour photos, capturing the glow of love (and maybe the aftermath of enthusiastic axe-throwing).

Meanwhile, you’re free to grab a drink, soak up the autumn air and start to plot your best dance moves for later until we call on you for a sneaky picture.
